Microsoft Blend 3 is an interface design tool created by Microsoft. It is included in the Microsoft Expression Suite as a Silverlight development tool. The name "Blend" comes from the blending of both web and desktop applications into once single interface that can be designed with this tool. The application is used to sketch and create front-end XAML interfaces. As with most of the Expression suite, Blend is specifically designed and optimized for Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Also in the tool you have support for 2D widgets but better yet, for 3D widgets with DirectX hardware support. Microsoft Blend also has a nice tool called Sketchflow. Which is a utility that can help designers make quick sketches, application flows or screen layouts. Blend also includes a nifty code editor where you can edit in XAML directly. As with other Expression tools, Blend also includes Team Foundation Server, which is a collaborative tool similar to subversion. If Silverlight is what you want to do, then probably, Blend is the best tool to design and create the application interfaces.
