Microsoft Expression Blend 2 is a workspace for designers to develop WPF and Silverlight applications. It’s a new wave of next-generation applications that blend the best of the Web and the desktop. Microsoft Expression Blend 2.0 is a nice option as you can design interface and then you can also edit the code in Visual Studio 2008. In order to use the Silverlight 2.0 you need to install the Microsoft Expression Blend 2.5 June Preview. Expression Blend will fully support Silverlight 2 in a future release. But now has been released an updated preview of Expression Blend 2.5 (Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview) to enable designers to start immediately exploring the power of Silverlight 2. Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview has been developed as a support to create Silverlight 2 applications and has all features of Expression Blend 2, but low level in WPF or Silverlight 1 creation. Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview works with the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Beta. Note, that at present time there is an Expression Blend 2 SP1 and you cannot have a side by side installation of Expression Blend 2.5 June 2008 Preview and Expression Blend 2 SP1.
